I guess you could call this make-do sangria. We had some leftover fruit, we had some wine, we had a little brandy and we wanted to have a summery cocktail; so what did we do about this? We made sangria! I think you must agree that that's a pretty good way to start cleaning out the cupboard. And it tasted great. Success.
Spur of the Moment Sangria
1 pineapple, cleaned and sliced into 1/2" pieces
2 apples peeled and sliced
1 bottle chardonnay
blackberries
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup cranberry juice
fresh sage
- mix the fruit together (and any saved pineapple juice) in a pitcher and pour on the brandy, let sit an hour.
- mix in the cranberry juice and chardonnay, let sit 1/2 an hour.
- add 2 blackberries into each glass and strain the sangria on top. Garnish with a sage leaf and serve to you eager friends!
I love your pictures!
